Trip to Swanton Berry Farm

We took a trip to Swanton Berry Farm today and learned a lot! Swanton Berry Farm was the first farm to have a workers union; which gave workers more support when voicing concerns and making decisions. We learned a lot about the food that they grow at Swanton. At Swanton they grow different kinds of berries and vegetables, including artichokes and pumpkins. I learned that they have to rotate crops because they can only efficiently grow strawberries for few tears in the same spot. I also learned that all the things they sell in their store are made almost completely with ingredients they grow.
When we finished our tour we got to take home strawberries and they gave us an Olallieberry Pie!
