Today we made a compost pile! Yuck! It was full of compostable paper plates, food, apples, and maggot covered bread!
What is compost anyway? Black gold--take your food scraps, garden/farm waste, lawn clippings, and yes, even nasty ol' maggot covered bread, and you have plenty of ingredients to make a compost pile...a pile that will decompose and become a mineral and nutrient rich addition to your soil. Think of compost as vitamins for your soil (remember those flintsones chewables?). Saves landfill space, too. -Doron
