The crew then planted peppers of different varieties to test which varieties will work best in the Santa Cruz climate. We planted eggplant and tomatoes too.
Doron led a resume workshop. Each participant learned how to put Food, What?!--their newly completed internship--on their resumes as well as other work history, skills, education, and community service. Some will go on to have the summer Food, What!? job while others will be actively looking for a summer job.
After all that hard work: PIZZA PARTY TIME!!! Fresh veggie pizza baked in a cob oven with a wood fire. YUM! First we made the dough prepared the veggies for toppings. Then we shaped the dough into individual pies and topped our own pizzas with marinara sauce, pesto, chard, kale, mushrooms, zucchini, broccoli, and garlic.
To top off the day, everyone received a cook book of all of the recipes from the past 12 weeks, a Food What?! t-shirt, and a pay check!
